SPRING BALL

FAST Wizard Softball will once again be directing the NWO Spring Softball League for Junior high and younger players.  This will be the 24th year.  The Varsity and Jr. Varsity Division will be for players up to 8th grade. The Minor Division will be for players in 5th grade and younger and 6th graders will be allowed to play with League permission.
 
The pitching is 35 feet using an 11" ball for all Minor Division players.  The JV division pitching distance is 40 feet.  Varsity is 43 feet.  8u is 30 feet using an 11" ball.

This league is once again for community-based teams except for 8u. Tournament teams are only allowed if they are community based. We believe that Spring is the time for girls to play with the same players that they will be playing with in High School. 

The FAST Wizard Spring league has been successfully run by truly experienced personnel. We're dedicated to providing a quality program for all of the young softball players in NW Ohio and SW Michigan areas.

The 2024 Spring League meeting will be Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Wizard World, 1045 S. McCord Road, Holland, Oh.  We will discuss league rules. Coaches are expected to attend this meeting.  Registrations and payments should  be completed at this time.  Please register online.  Teams that are not registered and paid in full at this time may not be entered into the schedule.  You can either pay online or pay by check payable to Wizard Softball.  Cost is $120.00 for all teams except 8u which is $80.00  Your roster will be required to be filled out showing players' names, grade and school district which they reside.  Any false information may result in your team being expelled from the league or other consequences deemed appropriate by League Commissioner.  
 

 

Games may start on Monday, March 17, 2024.  You can choose any day of the week that you want to play single games.  Sundays are double headers.  You may choose your own start date and which Sundays you want to play. The schedule will be 14 games.  Any single games that puts you over 14 games will not be counted towards the league standings.  The single elimination tournament will be on Saturday and Sunday, May 11-12, 2024.

Umpire fees are $55.00 per game per team this coming season if 2 umpires are used.  If only one umpire is being used the fee is $40.00 per team per game.

Coaches must have a completed USA Softball background check, ACE certification, Safe Sports and a valid up to date Concussion training prior to their first game.
