Fast
Pitch Softball in NW
Ohio...
Spring Jr. High League
We currently have over 80 teams that play in the Spring League. These
teams come from all over NW Ohio and SE Michigan. Games are played on
Weekends from April 1 – May 15. We have 3 divisions – Varsity, JV and
Minor League (4-5th grade). Games are played at the team’s
home field.
Teams must be community based. The Spring League’s
purpose is to give girls more opportunity to practice and play with
girls from their own school and to develop for their high school
program.
Wizard Program
We currently have 20+
travel teams in our Wizards Program. Players can still play on their
weekday league teams. The mission of the Wizard Program is to provide
opportunities for girls to play higher-level competition. Success is
not measured by wins/losses but by how much the players have learned and
improved on their softball skills by the end of the summer.
We strive to provide
better coaching and still make it enjoyable for the girls. Our coaches
attend a number of coaching clinics to help them with the latest
coaching techniques and we hold regular weekly coaches meetings to share
tips and ideas. Our Wizard coaches also work with many girls throughout
the winter at our training clinics.
We will continue to promote Wizard teams with non-parent coaches
whenever possible. Our Wizard Player Fees are kept low so the majority
of kids that want to play travel ball can do so.
Travel Tournaments
FAST will be hosting
several travel softball tournaments each summer, including the Farley
Memorial Tournament in June that offers 8 games for teams. We also
will be hosting the Great Lakes Tournament and the NFCA College
Recruiting Camp. The camp and tournament offer players and teams a
great spotlight to showcase their talents to many college coaches.
The Great Lakes tournament will be open to only 16U and 18U teams.
Fall Ball Program
Fall Ball was started in 1998 with 180 players. Today there are over 900
players. Divisions have expanded into a junior high league, a 4-5th
grade league and a Gold High School league. In the 2006 season full
competitive teams were allowed in all age groups. This will provide
newly formed tournament teams the ability to work together before the
following season. These competitive divisions will also have league
standings and a champion. Fall Ball is a great opportunity for all
players to work on their skills in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
Winter Softball Practices and Clinics
Winter Indoor practices
and clinics are held throughout the winter months. These practices are
fun, informative and affordable. General practices are open to all
players, all ages, regardless of team affiliation and are conducted by
many of our Wizard travel team coaches, as well as local high school and
college coaches. We offer small group and individual lessons
in pitching, catching and hitting with some of the most outstanding
instructors in softball today. We also have several college softball
players from around the area working with our kids in practice.
